Endgrain cutting board - elm tree

890.00

Length: 30,5 cm     Width: 18 cm     Thickness:  4,7 cm

Solid end grain cutting board made of sustainably cut elm tree. Endgrain is ideal for cutting as the fibres close after the knife has made the cut. Endgrain also keeps your knife sharp longer.

We got these boards from Henning's friend who lives near Arendal and who was asked to chop it down from a neighbouring property.

Elm is called the tree with a thousand elves eyes and is truly unique. There aren't many elm trees left in the world. The trees have been and are still being decimated by the elm disease, which has turned large areas in America and Europe barren for this tree type. We would never even consider cutting down a living elm tree. We must take care of the remaining, healthy Norwegian elm forests.
